Description
What do you get when you cross an iris with a peony? Well, Irony, of course! This was done for a lesson I took about blending images in creative ways. Some of the images I made used texture blending, but none of them gave me that "WOW" moment the way this one did.
Using the "blend-If" sliders found under "Blending Options" in Photoshop, I had the yellow iris with a black background on the bottom layer, with a cropped red peony above it. I played with the sliders until I got this result, which is so far out of my comfort zone, but so very cool, and I love it!
“The magic rarely happens within our comfort zone, but outside it, on the ragged, scary edge, where we have to fight like hell to keep from drowning in the unknown.”
