The sunflower is the national flower of Ukraine and it has become a symbol of hope and resistance to its people. The dove with the olive branch is also a symbol of peace, and the colors of yellow and blue represent the colors on the Ukrainian flag.

I have enjoyed photographing nature since I first learned to use a camera more advanced than my childhood Instamatic! When my husband Rick and I bought our home in Massachusetts back in 1979, we fell in love with the beautiful wooded wetland behind the house, and over the years we have come to love it even more. We also love gardening and the original property was mostly lawn. Over time we updated the landscape many times, and recently we added a naturalistic woodland garden near the wetlands and more cultivated gardens in the front and side yards.
