Columbines are one of my favorite spring flowers, and I always enjoy photographing them. This one is actually a purple columbine bud with a green background that I recolored and processed in Topaz Studio for a softer, pastel look, finishing it with a texture to enhance the effect.

I have enjoyed photographing nature since I first learned to use a camera more advanced than my childhood Instamatic! When my husband Rick and I bought our home in Massachusetts back in 1979, we fell in love with the beautiful wooded wetland behind the house, and over the years we have come to love it even more. We also love gardening and the original property was mostly lawn. Over time we updated the landscape many times, and recently we added a naturalistic woodland garden near the wetlands and more cultivated gardens in the front and side yards.
