Artist's Description
The daylily is such a special flower - so beautiful, vibrant, and full of life, but for only one day. Their ephemeral nature is always a reminder to treasure every moment. Our glorious Charles Johnson daylilies are one of the earliest to bloom, and how we look forward to them in late June.
I spent a long time trying to find just the right angle to showcase this gorgeous blossom, using a tripod to get more control.
Processed in Photoshop with basic adjustments.

About Anita Pollak
I have enjoyed photographing nature since I first learned to use a camera more advanced than my childhood Instamatic! When my husband Rick and I bought our home in Massachusetts back in 1979, we fell in love with the beautiful wooded wetland behind the house, and over the years we have come to love it even more. We also love gardening and the original property was mostly lawn. I love photographing flowers, and many of my flower photos were taken in our yard or at three very special botanical gardens in New England: Tower Hill Botanic Garden in Boylston,...

Anita! Such an eloquent beauty!! I so agree with you about the daylily and how blooming one day at a time reminds us to love and appreciate every single moment we are given. I am not surprised at all we think the same way. And how glorious this is, and how I look forward to when they will bloom for us again! It is wonderful to see this post, like Jeff writes below!!
