The foliage in Groton, Massachusetts is always amazing, but we weren't sure what to expect this year because of the serious drought we had all summer. We've had more rain recently, but we're still in a moderate drought.
I shot this photo in Groton Center, not long before dusk and just down the street from where I shot my other foliage image of Groton Center back in October 2017. I particularly love the way the orange foliage spills over the white fence in a glorious cascade, with the beautiful tree standing proudly behind it.

I have enjoyed photographing nature since I first learned to use a camera more advanced than my childhood Instamatic! When my husband Rick and I bought our home in Massachusetts back in 1979, we fell in love with the beautiful wooded wetland behind the house, and over the years we have come to love it even more. We also love gardening and the original property was mostly lawn. Over time we updated the landscape many times, and recently we added a naturalistic woodland garden near the wetlands and more cultivated gardens in the front and side yards. Anita, this is breathtakingly perfect and beautiful. I love the white fencing emphasizing the color of the leaves contrasting against it. And you are right, the tall tree is standing proudly. I like also very much that you mention in your description just WHY you shot this picture i.e. what motivated you. I think anyone buying a picture might want to know why it was actually created.
