Westford, Massachusetts
This viburnum is actually a shrub we pruned into a tree over 25 years ago, to replace a beautiful dogwood tree we lost the year before. Dogwoods are understory trees and this spot was too exposed for it, but clearly the viburnum is most content in this spot.
I took this photo after a major snowfall a couple of years ago. I love the way the snow-covered viburnum looks with the late afternoon light filtering through from the woods.
Nikon D700 with Nikon 20-35mm lens at 35mm
I used Topaz Impression (Impasto, custom settings) and Topaz Restyle at reduced opacity to get the look I wanted.
