Description
The purple coneflower, or Echinacea purpurea, is one of my favorite flowers in the summer garden, and I love all the phases of the flower, from just beginning to open, to pretty much spent.
This beauty had just opened when I shot it a couple of days ago in the early evening light. Even though it is not a sunflower, this flower with it's soft background of yellow yarrow flowers, gave me the feeling of sunshine.
Processed in Photoshop with Nik Color Efex Pro, Topaz Impression (low opacity), and several textures to enhance both the flower and the background.
