We visited a beautiful garden in New Hampshire called Tarbin Gardens, on a cool, overcast day just perfect for photography. We were the only ones there so it was a joy to wander the beautiful grounds and find interesting ways to shoot flowers and baby leaves.

This is a star magnolia flower, and the way its petals spread out really caught my eye. Most of the magnolias are past now, but it's such a joy to have the photos to remind us of the beauty that was.

Processed in Photoshop with several filters and textures.

I have enjoyed photographing nature since I first learned to use a camera more advanced than my childhood Instamatic! When my husband Rick and I bought our home in Massachusetts back in 1979, we fell in love with the beautiful wooded wetland behind the house, and over the years we have come to love it even more. We also love gardening and the original property was mostly lawn. Over time we updated the landscape many times, and recently we added a naturalistic woodland garden near the wetlands and more cultivated gardens in the front and side yards.
