Description
Our Korean Lilac shrub (called Miss Kim) blooms a couple of weeks after the common lilacs and it's beautiful, fragrant blooms are always a joy to the senses. The shrub is very compact and the panicles (the clusters of florets) are often close together, so it's sometimes hard to isolate one to photograph. I was lucky to find this lovely curved panicle, and the florets were just starting to open.
It already had a soft focus from the Lensbaby Velvet 85 lens I used, so I gave it a painterly treatment with Topaz Impression and several textures to add the different colors to the image.
