Description
This work was inspired by a beautiful image created by Wes Iverson, called "Pink Nostalgia" here:https://fineartamerica.com/featured/pink-nostalgia-wes-iversen.html. Although my image is very different from his, the way the crabapple branch curves into the photo and the beautiful use of color and texture sent me looking back though my images of crabapple branches to see what i could come up with.
I shot these lovely flowers last May in my favorite place to shoot crabapple and cherry blossoms - the beautiful park surrounding Arlington Town Hall in Arlington, Massachusetts. We try to get down there every year in early May for the spectacular cherry and crabapple blooms, as well as fragrant Korean Spice Viburnum and beautiful early rhododendrons.
I really liked the shape of this little branch, as well as the way the flowers and leaves cascade from the top blooms.
Processed in Photoshop with Topaz Studio and a several textures from Jai Johnson, including the gold frame (which will not appear on all products).
Nikon D810 with Nikon 200mm micro lens.
