This very cute Lemon Queen sunflower caught my eye with that petal across her "face," as if she's keeping a secret. These lovely sunflowers are only 2-3 inches in wide, with multiple blooms covering very tall shrubs - 6-8 feet high. They are charming flowers but not easy to photograph, since their small size and thin stems are easily blown about on a windy day.
I gave her a grunge treatment with Nik Analog Efex Pro and several grunge textures.

I have enjoyed photographing nature since I first learned to use a camera more advanced than my childhood Instamatic! When my husband Rick and I bought our home in Massachusetts back in 1979, we fell in love with the beautiful wooded wetland behind the house, and over the years we have come to love it even more. We also love gardening and the original property was mostly lawn. Over time we updated the landscape many times, and recently we added a naturalistic woodland garden near the wetlands and more cultivated gardens in the front and side yards.
