This is another of the lovely dahlias we are lucky to have in our garden. I've been shooting them all summer and enjoying the beauty of these wonderful flowers. This one caught my eye - it seemed to be looking upward and smiling at me, sharing in the joy of a beautiful summer evening.
Processed in Photoshop with Topaz Studio and Impression, with textures added from French Kiss Textures.

I have enjoyed photographing nature since I first learned to use a camera more advanced than my childhood Instamatic! When my husband Rick and I bought our home in Massachusetts back in 1979, we fell in love with the beautiful wooded wetland behind the house, and over the years we have come to love it even more. We also love gardening and the original property was mostly lawn. Over time we updated the landscape many times, and recently we added a naturalistic woodland garden near the wetlands and more cultivated gardens in the front and side yards.
