This lovely rose is called "Good as Gold" and it was one of my favorites when we visited Fuller Gardens in North Hampton, New Hampshire last June. It was just a few days after the Summer Solstice and the sun was very bright, so it was challenging to find a spot to shoot where the lighting wasn't overpowering. This rose and its companions were in such a spot, with a kiss of light on the flowers but not on the background, giving it great contrast.
Painting added in Topaz Impression and a green texture from Flypaper Textures gave me the look I wanted. I look forward to visiting Fuller Gardens again this spring and summer.

I have enjoyed photographing nature since I first learned to use a camera more advanced than my childhood Instamatic! When my husband Rick and I bought our home in Massachusetts back in 1979, we fell in love with the beautiful wooded wetland behind the house, and over the years we have come to love it even more. We also love gardening and the original property was mostly lawn. Over time we updated the landscape many times, and recently we added a naturalistic woodland garden near the wetlands and more cultivated gardens in the front and side yards.
