Description
Going back through some old photos, I found this capture of one of my favorite trees in Westford. It's high on a hill, easily seen and enjoyed from a road we travel often. The tree is still there and still gorgeous, but the property is no longer Hicks Farm, where I could often see horses in the riding ring behind the tree. I've shot it many times over the years, but it was particularly beautiful on this lovely October day 15 years ago. Now much of the land closer to the road has been cleared for new homes, but fortunately this charming and wonderful tree is still there, to be enjoyed whenever we drive by there.
Processed in Photoshop with basic filters and Analog Effect Pro 3 to give it a slightly vintage look.
Nikon D80 with 18-200mm lens at 52mm.

This tree is called Gulmohar in India and is widely grown as a street tree for its umbrella-like canopy and of course for its stunning flowers. People here are very fond of this tree.... Excellent capture, Anita!

Gorgeous scene, love the chairs sitting so inviting beside the ring, loved the story, sad the riding ring is gone now but so nice the beautiful tree is still there. Amazing what changes a tree sees in it's lifetime if it lives to be old. Even more that we do. LF
