Last summer there was a delightful group of black-eyed susans growing wild by the entrance to the rail trail where we often walk. Each one seemed to have its own personality, and I call this one Flopsy, because of the floppy petals on the left side.
I used textures and photopainting to enhance the image and hide the distracting background.

I have enjoyed photographing nature since I first learned to use a camera more advanced than my childhood Instamatic! When my husband Rick and I bought our home in Massachusetts back in 1979, we fell in love with the beautiful wooded wetland behind the house, and over the years we have come to love it even more. We also love gardening and the original property was mostly lawn. Over time we updated the landscape many times, and recently we added a naturalistic woodland garden near the wetlands and more cultivated gardens in the front and side yards.
