The daylily is such a special flower - so beautiful, vibrant, and full of life, but only for one day. Daylilies are one of my favorite flowers, and these crimson beauties have been blooming prolifically since the middle of July. 10-12 luscious blooms a day, and such a joy to see every morning.
I love all my daylilies, but this flower really took my breath away with it's perfect form, lighting, and background, and I took many shots from different angles. This angle really drew me in - it looks like she is reaching toward the sky in all her glory.
I don't know the name of this fabulous daylily, but I do know that I love it!
Processed in Photoshop with basic filters and a touch of Topaz Impression. She didn't need anything more from me!

I have enjoyed photographing nature since I first learned to use a camera more advanced than my childhood Instamatic! When my husband Rick and I bought our home in Massachusetts back in 1979, we fell in love with the beautiful wooded wetland behind the house, and over the years we have come to love it even more. We also love gardening and the original property was mostly lawn.
