Early rhododendrons are such a delight here in Massachusetts, and Olga Mezitt is one of the most beautiful. It blooms a bit later than the purple PJM rhododendrons and always puts on a lovely show. I shot this lovely cluster soon after a gentle rain, and you can see the raindrops on her leaves. I call her sassy because she seems to be sticking out her tongue at me!
Processed in Photoshop with Topaz Impression and a couple of textures.

I have enjoyed photographing nature since I first learned to use a camera more advanced than my childhood Instamatic! When my husband Rick and I bought our home in Massachusetts back in 1979, we fell in love with the beautiful wooded wetland behind the house, and over the years we have come to love it even more. We also love gardening and the original property was mostly lawn. Over time we updated the landscape many times, and recently we added a naturalistic woodland garden near the wetlands and more cultivated gardens in the front and side yards.
