When we were on vacation at Acadia National Park, we walked a short way on the Eagle Lake Carriage Road to a spot we know very well. You can usually see Pemetic Mountain across the lake from here, but the thick fog obscured the mountain and most everything else bordering the water. But it left us with a beautiful view of the foliage right in front of us, and it was a joy to capture the contrast between they foggy lake and the lovely foliage in the foreground. Just one of the many moods the Acadia landscape provided us during our visit.

I have enjoyed photographing nature since I first learned to use a camera more advanced than my childhood Instamatic! When my husband Rick and I bought our home in Massachusetts back in 1979, we fell in love with the beautiful wooded wetland behind the house, and over the years we have come to love it even more. We also love gardening and the original property was mostly lawn. Over time we updated the landscape many times, and recently we added a naturalistic woodland garden near the wetlands and more cultivated gardens in the front and side yards.
