A few years ago as I went through my yard trying to capture the fall flowers before an expected frost that night, this maple leaf sitting alone on our bluestone path called out and I answered. The shot was very simple, but I wanted to give it the full treatment, since it was so beautiful and there I knew there wouldn't be many more like it that fall, and of course, I do love to play with filters!
Processed in Photoshop with filters from On1 and Topaz, and textures from French Kiss and Filter Forge.
Nikon D700 with 105mm Nikon micro lens.
I have enjoyed photographing nature since I first learned to use a camera more advanced than my childhood Instamatic! When my husband Rick and I bought our home in Massachusetts back in 1979, we fell in love with the beautiful wooded wetland behind the house, and over the years we have come to love it even more. We also love gardening and the original property was mostly lawn. Over time we updated the landscape many times, and recently we added a naturalistic woodland garden near the wetlands and more cultivated gardens in the front and side yards.
